Structuring Africa’s Energy and infrastructure Future
António is the Founding Partner and Managing Director of Honeywood, with over 20 years of experience structuring and executing complex advisory and lending transactions across Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.
He has led transactions spanning corporate and project finance across key sectors including energy (renewables, BESS, gas and hydro), infrastructure (roads, hospitals and port terminals), agribusiness, services and industrials.
Prior to Honeywood, António was Managing Partner at Finergreen Southern Africa, where he led the advisory business of the boutique investment bank focused on the energy and environment transition.
He began his career at Deloitte & Touche before moving into project finance at Millennium Investment Banking in Portugal. He later joined Espírito Santo Investment Bank in Angola (now Haitong), where he executed both project finance and M&A transactions.
Before joining Finergreen, António served as Associate Director at Eaglestone Capital Advisory in South Africa, specialising in infrastructure finance.
Beyond Honeywood
Former international rugby player for Portugal (“Os Lobos”), representing the national team over multiple years, including two Rugby Sevens World Cups. Known for discipline, resilience and performing under pressure at the highest level, on and off the field. (Claims to have tackled Jonah Lomu! still under review.)
Outside the boardroom, António applies the same craftsmanship to wood and honey, an aspiring carpenter and beekeeper who believes the best structures, like the best deals, are carefully built and patiently matured.
Ross is a Co-Founding Partner and Executive Director at Honeywood, with a decade of experience in Africa’s energy and infrastructure sectors. He specialises in project development, transaction structuring, and capital fundraising for renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure projects across Southern Africa.
A mechanical engineer by training, Ross began his career on a coal-fired power station in Mpumalanga, an experience that sparked his passion for decarbonising energy generation across the continent. His aptitude for numbers led him naturally into project finance, where he has worked on financial model audits for private and REIPPPP projects, and gone on to lead capital raising and financial close for landmark transactions. This blend of technical and financial expertise gives him a deep understanding of the complexities behind executing transformative infrastructure projects.
Beyond Honeywood

In 2025, he served on the judging panel that selected the Best of Show beer at the African Beer Cup. Outside of brewing, Ross is an enthusiastic ultra-runner and cover band guitarist.
